Beach Poem

Foam tipped waves crash down
Onto the white grains of sand.
Turquoise ribbons slither from the sand
Back to the wide ocean.

Feet race across the sand
As people race to the sea.
People grab their surfboards
Racing into the waves.
They topple off laughing,
And scramble onto their boards again.

Children play in the sand,
Building large sandcastles and other things.

Seagulls ride the wind
Looking around for food.
Some dive down, snatching chips from little babies.

Soon it’s time to leave the beach,
And everyone goes home exhausted but happy,

To wash sand out of their hair and clothes.
